Listed below are some answers to commonly asked questions regarding the new IEDA website…
What is my username and password?
Your username and password should have been sent to you in an email titled “New IEDA Website User Information.” If you misplaced your username/password or never received this email, call or email Kristen Williams. She can be reached at 585-869-9002 or kristen@iedagroup.com and will be happy to provide you the information you need.
I want to add my Sales Team as users on the new site so they can keep track of the daily postings and activity. How do I add additional users from my company?
Email Kristen Williams at Kristen@iedagroup.com with names and email addresses of the users you would like to add. Kristen will email each new user individually with their own username and password so they can gain access to the site.
Do I have to log on every time I want to view current postings?
In the profile section of the site, you will see a section on the top right called “Digest Email Sign-up” and you will need to type in your name and email address to sign up. Once you have done this, you will receive an email generated from the site with the listings that have been made in the previous 24 hour time period. If you would like to view listings more frequently, we encourage you to bookmark the site and check it more often throughout your workday.
How do I log onto the site for the first time?
On the top right hand corner of the homepage, you should type in (or paste) the username and password that was provided to you via email. The title of the email is “New IEDA Site Release.” Check the box “Remember Me” and you won’t have to log in every time you visit.
How do I change my password?
Once you are logged in, look at the top right side of the homepage where it says “Welcome Back” and then find a link with your name. Click on your name and it will bring you to your profile. Click on “Settings” and then at the bottom of that page, type in a new password twice. Click “Save Changes.”
It looks like other users have a picture or logo that identify them, similar to Facebook. How do I upload my own identifier (avatar)?
On the top right side of the homepage, click the link to your name once you are logged in to the site. This will bring you to your profile area. Click “Profile.” Then click “Change Avatar.” Click “Browse” to search for your logo or picture on your computer. Then click “Upload Image.” Once it loads, you will see a box that you can resize if you like. You will see a preview of your avatar and will notice that it must be square in shape. Make your selection and then click “Save Changes.”
How do I update my profile?
At the top right side of the homepage, click the link to your name. Once you are in your profile area, click “Profile” and then “Edit Profile.” Update your contact information and click “Save Changes.”
How do I make a post?
You must be logged into the site as a member to make a post. Once you are logged in, click “Make a Post” and find the drop-down box where you will select either “Sell Equipment” or “Locate Equipment.” Fill in the necessary information for your listing, upload images if you like and click “Submit.” It is very easy!
How do I reply to members who have made a post that interests me?
Again, you must be logged in as a member to view posts. When you see a post you want to reply to, you can either “Reply Publicly” or “Reply Privately.” If you click “Public Reply”, all members will be able to view your post. If you prefer to respond privately, click “View” on the post and you will notice a box labeled “Email Post Author.” Click this button to activate an email that will direct you via email to the person who made the post. You can also use the “Send Private Message” option. All replies to all posts will be received by the post author immediately via email.
How do I delete a post that I made?
You can delete an entire post that you made by clicking “View” to view your post. To delete, click the button that says “Delete Post Forever.” You can also delete comments that you have made. Just click the “Delete” key next to the comment you have posted.
How do I search for equipment that may have been posted?
Log on as an IEDA member. On the homepage, you will see a “Search” button on the top right side of the screen. Type in letters, numbers or other identifying information you have. The search function works amazingly well and will give you a list of all related listings.
It looks like there are other neat features on the site like “Friends” or “Favorites.” How do I use those features?
Glad you asked! These are very neat features about the site, and they will be explained to you in detail at the IEDA Annual Meeting in Orlando on February 15, 2011…so join us!
What if I have questions or I am not comfortable getting around on the site?
No problem! Our goal is to get every member using this new communication tool and we expect that you may need assistance.
